Energy-efficient and reliable transformers will help secure stable power supply.
Beijing, China, August 9, 2006 - ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, signed a contract totaling around RMB20 million yuan with CCTV today to offer ABB 10kV dry type transformer to CCTV new site construction project. ABB Shanghai Transformer Co., Ltd. will provide energy-efficient and reliable transformers to secure stable power supply in the new site of CCTV.
Ji Xiaojun, Deputy Director General of CCTV New Site Construction & Development Program Office and other officers, relevant cooperation parties, and ABB (China) Limited Company joined today's contract signing ceremony.

CCTV purchased 20 SCR dry type transformers produced by ABB Shanghai Transformer Co., Ltd. from 1998 to 2001. All of the transformers have been running in very good condition up to date. The sound level of the two transformers installed in CCTV's 2,000 ㎡ studio is as low as 48 db. CCTV speaks highly about the performance of ABB transformers.
