December 13, 2002 Shanghai, China - ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, announced today that it has signed a Euro 3 million contract with Dongfeng-Citroen Automobile Co. Ltd. (DCAC), to supply 26 robot function packages for spot welding and gluing applications, and a complete line for press automation.

Under this contract, ABB will supply 26 units of IRB6400 robots and another 8 units of IRB7600 robots newly introduced into the Asian market. These robots will form a new manufacturing line for the Peugeot 306 and 307 models with a production capacity of 100,000 units annually.
Established in 1992, Dongfeng-Citroen Automobile Co. Ltd. (DCAC) set a master plan to produce 300,000 cars and 400,000 engines annually in multiple phases. This year, the company has already sold 75,000 family cars to local consumers.
