Beijing, China, December 4, 2002 – ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, announced today that it has won several contracts from the State Power Northeast Company and Beijing Power Supply Bureau to deliver power transformers and switchgear equipments.
One bank of single phase, 250 MVA unit size 500 kV auto-transformers with on-load-tap-changers, one set of 500 kV circuit breakers and three sets of 220 kV circuit breakers will be delivered in about eight months to the Shaling 500 kV substation located on the outskirts of Shenyang.
Another contract consisting of 8 units three-phase transformers of voltage level 220 kV and 110 kV, and of various ratings were awarded by the power monopoly of the capital city. All these units, based on ABB "TrafoStar"concept, will be delivered before the end of May 2003.
The total value of these contracts is about 80 million RMB.

The first contract is a repeat order. Early this year, ABB received two similar orders from the State Power Northeast Company to deliver two banks of 500 kV power transformers for the Shaheying and Dongjia substations. In Beijing, more than 50 ABB transformers are put into service in the past few years.
All the transformers and switchgears will be manufactured by ABB in Chongqing, Hefei and Beijing respectively.
