Beijing, March 15 – ABB High Voltage Switchgear Co. Ltd. announced the launching of its new medium voltage switchgears: the SafeRing SF6 gas-insulated ring main unit and the SafePlus SF6 gas-insulated compact switchgear system during the celebration of the company’s 5th anniversary together with its partners, business associates, major customers, and representatives of various government departments. These new products represent a complete solution for the 12/24 kV electrical systems, which is vital for the nation’s continuous development of its distribution networks.

The SafeRing is a ring main unit for the secondary distribution network. It can be supplied with a number of different configurations suitable for most switching applications. SafeRing is a completely sealed system with stainless steel tank containing all the live parts and switch functions. A sealed steel tank with constant atmospheric conditions ensures a high level reliability as well as personnel safety and a virtually maintenance-free system.
SafePlus has a unique flexibility due to its extensibility and possible combination of fully modular and semi modular configurations. When combined with the SafeRing, which being ABB’s standard for ring main unit, they represent a complete solution for the 12/24 kV distribution networks. The SafePlus and the SafeRing have identical user interfaces.
The SafeRing and SafePlus are manufactured according to our strict quality and environment procedures. 90-95% of all material is recyclable and plastic parts are individually marked to facilitate the recycling.
