ABB Huadian See the First 110KV SF6 GIS Off the Line

Xiamen,May,18-ABB Huadian High Voltage Switchgear(Xiamen) Co. Ltd announced today the first ELK-04 type 110KV SF6 Gas Insulated Switchgear(GIS) is successfully off the production line during the company’s inauguration celebration with its partners, business associates, major customers and representatives of various government departments.

With technology and modules transfered from ABB Calor Emag Schaltanlagen AG, the ELK-04 type 110 KV SF6 GIS occupies only a fraction of the space required by conventional GIS, and has the advantage of high reliability, long life, maintenance-free and low gas pressure.

“The ELK-04 110KV SF6 GIS represent teh latest development of gas insulated switchgear, and is the economic solution for applications in areas of high electrical load density, especially in towns and industrial centers. This new achievement reflects ABB’s strategy to transfer teh most advanced technolgy to its Chinese Joint Ventures.” Said Mr. Peter Leupp, President and Country Manger of ABB (China) Ltd.

Established in December, 1999, ABB Huadian High Voltage Switchgear(Xiamen) Co. Ltd, the first ABB JV to manufacture and assemble GIS in Asia & Pacific Region, is a joint venture formed by ABB (China) Ltd, China Huadian Engineering Corporation and Fujian Xiamen Electric Power Bureau.

ABB Huadian High Voltage Switchgear(Xiamen) Co. Ltd specialised in design, manufacture, assemble, test and sell 110KV to 500KV high voltage gas insulated switechgear and accessories, with application of the same quality control program, assembel processes, test criteria and main components and parts from ABB Calor Emag Schaltanlagen AG to keep the same quality standard. In 2000, the company received ISO 9001 Quality Management Certificate.
