With eight local companies in the top 100
Beijing, September 7, 2005 – ABB is the leading electrical enterprise in the world, with eight local companies ranked in a prominent list of China’s top 100 electric equipment suppliers, according to the result of independent industry analysis recently.
“We owe our success not only to the competitive edge of our technologies and products, but also to our strong commitment to be a reliable partner to and a good corporate citizen in China,” said Peter Leupp, chairman and president of ABB in China.
The annual ranking was provided by Electric Age, an authoritative industry magazine in China, and is based on the enterprises’ annual revenue figures provided by the China State Statistics Bureau.
Among the eight ABB companies are ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co., Ltd, ABB High Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd, Beijing, ABB Xiamen Low Voltage Euqipment Co., Ltd, ABB Beijing Drive Systems Co., Ltd, ABB Chongqing Transformer Co., Ltd, ABB Hefei Transformer Co., Ltd, ABB Shanghai Motors Co., Ltd, and ABB Xinhui Low Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd.
“We will continue to strengthen our current companies while adding new companies in the west,” said Peter Leupp.
He said that ABB has been keen to support China in developing the west frontier by establishing joint venture companies in Xian and Chongqing, and in building a resource-efficient society with technology support.
Last year, ABB had six of its local companies listed in the popular ranking.
