ABB volunteers will service in the Shanghai game
Shanghai, September 29, 2007– ABB, the leading power and automation technology group is invited to join the opening of 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai in recognition of its contributions to Special Olympics worldwide. ABB has contributed to the Special Olympics over one million Euros since 2000, and supported the Games with ABB volunteers. In this year's Summer Games in Shanghai, a number of ABB China employees will volunteer in the game service.
Special Olympics is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. This organization is now presented in over 160 countries and regions. ABB became the partner of Special Olympics in 2002. Up till now, ABB has already donated more than one million Euros. According to the sponsorship agreement, ABB will donate another 200,000 Euros in 2008.

Since the World Summer Games will be held during the National Day holidays, quite a few ABB employees have canceled their travel plan for the Seven-day holidays, fully prepared to serve over 7,400 international athletes and coaches.
