ABB will show up at EP China and CIIF 2006

Promote themes of "Grid reliability"& "Energy efficiency" in support of sustainable development in power and automation industries

Beijing, China, October 23, 2006 -ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, announced here today that its Power Products and Power System divisions will bring its full-line products to "EP China" scheduled for October 31-November 3 at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. The Automation Products, Process Automation and Robotics divisions will participate in the Energy Equipment Exhibition of the China International Industrial Fair scheduled for November 1-5 in Shanghai.

Sponsored by the China Power Enterprises Association, with the support of the China Power Industry Regulatory Commission, the 11th International Electric Power Equipment and Technology Exhibition (EP China) is the largest exhibition in China's power industry that attracts the largest number of professionals and contributors. ABB will display the full line of products in its nearly 200 square meters of indoor booth. This is the largest investment yet made by ABB in recent years.

Bringing into vision will be the full line and all-voltage transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, cables and other products developed and manufactured by ABB in recent years, noted for their safety, reliability, long life-span and services. As an experienced engineering company, ABB will also exhibit all its solutions in power production, distribution and transformation, including power plant control and optimal management, transformer stations and automation of transformer stations. Also on show will be flexible power transmission, high-voltage DC transmission (light voltage DC), power plant automation, power market, communications systems, regional heat supply and water treatment and power plant instruments and meters, control systems and electric equipment.

ABB will also contribute its products to special exhibition area at EP China devoted to renewable energy, where nuclear, wind power, solar power and hydropower equipment and technologies will be displayed.

At the Shanghai energy equipment exhibition that follows, ABB will shows its products, systems and solutions that will help reduce energy consumption, raise energy efficiency and production efficiency on its 180 square meter booth that highlights the theme "Save Energy and Increase Efficiency in Support of Sustainable Development". The exhibits will include low-voltage motors, low-voltage converters, other low-voltage products, low-voltage systems, automation control system and industrial robots.

At the invitation of Shanghai World Expo Group and Shanghai Municipal Economic Commission, ABB's high-level management personnel will have face-to-face discussions on ABB's experience in energy efficient products at the "Minister and CEO Forum" scheduled for November 1 and the "Mayor and CEO Forum" scheduled for November 2. Besides, ABB will, in cooperation with the Shanghai Power Industry Association, Shanghai Energy Conservation Association and the Shanghai Electrical Engineering and Designing Society, hold a forum on "Save Energy and Increase Efficiency in Support of Sustainable Development". Deputy Director of the Energy Institute of the State Development and Reform Commission Da Yande will be invited to speak on "Energy Demand under the Established Objectives for Medium- and Long-Term Development - Current Conditions, Problems, Challenges and Countermeasures.
