ABB stands out in 2006 "China Top 100 Electric Companies"

10 ABB local companies appear in the list

Beijing, Sept 2, 2006 - ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, became the top winner at the unveiling of the 7th "China Top 100 Electric companies" today, with as many as 10 ABB local companies appearing in the list.

The ranking was conducted by China's influential industry magazine Electric Age, based on 2005 revenue figures recorded by the China's official statistics organization.

The 10 ABB companies include ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co. Ltd, ABB's first local JV established in 1992, and its biggest so far. Besides, there are ABB High Voltage Switchgear Co. Ltd., Beijing; Bejing ABB Drive Co. Ltd., ABB Chongqing Transformer Co. Ltd, ABB Engineering (Shanghai) Ltd. etc.

The organizer also issued three single awards. Among the top 10 companies awarded for Strength, there was ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co. Ltd, with a total revenue of 2.554 billion yuan and a long lasting leading position in the industry. ABB Zhongshan Transformers Co. Ltd., won the Award for Growth with over 60% growth rate in 2005, and ABB Xinhui Low Voltage Switchgear Co. Ltd. got the Innovation Award for its outstanding R&D breakthroughs which have brought great benefits to customers in China and other countries.
