ABB donates one million to aid earthquake-stricken areas

Actively participate in both relief work & power infrastructure support

Beijing, China, May 13, 2008 – ABB (China) Limited today donated one million RMB to the China Red Cross in an effort to help the needy victims in Sichuan. Meanwhile, ABB also launched an immediate donation campaign supported by its 13,000 employees in China.

“ABB has enjoyed one century’s cooperation with China, and 99 percent of our employees are Chinese citizens. We have been paying close attention to what the earthquake has brought forth --huge losses on people’s lives as well as power infrastructure facilities,” said Brice Koch, Chairman & President of ABB China. “We wish the donation could be used for purchasing tents, quilts and other life necessities for the affected.”

Beiing the world’s leading power and automation company, ABB has established 24-hour supporting hot lines for its power grid customers and committed green channel service supported by all its local companies.

Early in February this year, ABB donated one million RMB to the needy victims in the snow-stricken regions in the south part of China.
